Complete product development for Spectra, a guitar signal optimiser, covering electronics, firmware, enclosure design and prototyping through to a finished product.
The brief
The project was to develop Spectra, a device that sits between an electric guitar and amplifier, optimising the signal path to maximise signal integrity. Denotec was responsible for the complete product development, from the underlying electronics and firmware through to the physical product.
The constraint
The device needed to preserve the character and integrity of the guitar signal while introducing the required signal optimisation without compromising the user experience. The design also needed to combine precision electronics with a robust enclosure suitable for a premium audio product.
Our approach
Denotec developed the hardware and firmware alongside the mechanical design, creating the electronics, embedded software and machined aluminium enclosure as one integrated product. Prototypes were built and tested throughout development, allowing the electrical, firmware and mechanical elements to be refined together.
The outcome
Spectra progressed from concept through prototyping to a finished commercial product. The device went on to receive multiple industry awards, recognising the product and its approach to guitar signal optimisation.
