Drone motor control firmware

Firmware development for a drone motor control system, providing the software needed to test motor operation and validate the underlying electronics.

The brief

The project required firmware to test the operation of the motors on a drone platform. Denotec developed the embedded software needed to control the motors and provide a practical way to verify their operation during hardware development and testing.

The constraint

The firmware needed to provide predictable motor control while working with the existing drone electronics. It also needed to support controlled testing so that the motor system could be exercised safely and its behaviour observed during development.

Our approach

Denotec developed dedicated test firmware for the drone's motor control hardware. The software provided the required control functions while keeping the implementation focused on repeatable testing and straightforward validation of the motor system.

The outcome

The firmware enabled the drone motors to be operated and tested as part of the hardware development process. This provided a functional software layer for validating the motor electronics and supporting further development of the drone platform.
